On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Washington High School tennis team hosted the Astros from East Clinton High School.
East Clinton won this non-conference match, three courts to two.
At first singles, Rylee Kempton of East Clinton defeated Jillian Frederick, 6-4, 4-6, 6-10 (10-point tiebreaker instead of a full third set).
Stephanie Lambert of East Clinton beat Kate Bailey, 6-7, 6-4, 8-10 (10-point tiebreaker).
Washington’s Ady Bartruff won at third singles, 6-2, 6-3 over Mallory Thomason.
East Clinton won the first doubles match. Abigail Prater and Josie Balon beat Kendelle Woods and Gretchen Reed, 4-6, 0-6.
Washington’s Mary Denen and Sam Dallmayer won over Sophia Morgan and Madisyn Lawson, 6-4, 7-5.
