Ironmen win final regular season FAC boys golf match

GREENFIELD — The sixth and final regular season Frontier Athletic Conference boys golf match took place Tuesday evening at Buckeye Hills Country Club.

Going into the match, the Ironmen narrowly led the league with a record of 23-2 in FAC matches, followed by Chillicothe at 22-3, Hillsboro at 10-15, Washington at 9-16, Miami Trace at 6-19 and McClain at 5-20.

Jackson won the match on Tuesday with a 164, improving their record to 28-2, Chillicothe finished second with a 166 and are now 26-4, McClain placed third with a 168 which puts them at 8-22, Hillsboro took fourth with a 169 to make their record 12-18, Miami Trace came in fifth with a 170 to move their record to 7-23 and Washington placed sixth and is now 9-21.

Four golfers shared medalist honors, with Carter Davidson of Miami Trace, Conner Kelch of Hillsboro, Vincent Haller of Chillicothe and Alex Perie of McClain each shooting a 38.

Individually for Jackson, Garison Marcum led with a 39, followed by Parker Holsteion with a 40, Easton McGraw with a 41, Rylan Wyant with a 44, and Noah Ernst and Dalton Kight each with a 46.

Individually for the Cavaliers, Haller led with a 38, followed by Aidan Fischer with a 39, Jackson Oyer with a 41, Kooper Elliot with a 48, JB Maravilla with a 52 and Jackson McNeal with a 54.

Individually for McClain, Perie led with a 38, followed by Jeremy Webb and Connor Chandler with a 43, Carson Chandler with a 44, Carter Nelson with a 45 and Leland Ewry with a 53.

Individually for Hillsboro, Kelch led with a 38, followed by Walker Pence and Jack Cornele with a 43, Logan Zurface with a 45 and Logan Barton with a 50.

Individually for Miami Trace, Davidson led with a 38, followed by Cade Whitaker and Gage Bowers with a 43, Cole Whiteside with a 46, Gavin Cottrill with a 49 and Gabe Carson with a 51.

Individually for Washington, Will Miller led with a 40, followed by Logan Clevenger with a 44, Cooper Robertson with a 48, Bryson Heath with a 49, Shane Crago with a 56 and Mason Conger with a 58.

The 18-hole FAC Championship is set for Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Franklin Valley Golf Course at 9 a.m.
