Washington tennis beats Jackson and London; falls to Unioto in recent matches

The Washington High School tennis team hosted the team from Jackson High School for a Frontier Athletic Conference match Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Washington won the match, 4-1.

At first singles, Cambry Brown defeated Lauren Carper, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Jackson’s Lacey Houser won the second singles match over Jillian Frederick, 5-7, 3-6.

Kate Bailey won the third singles match in shutout fashion, 6-0, 6-0 over Kenzie Collins.

Kendelle Woods and Gretchen Reed beat Hannah Fortner and McKenzey Coyan at first doubles, 6-3, 6-2.

At second doubles, Rilee Langley and Sam Dallmayer beat Calliee Newkirk and Emma Butts, 6-3, 6-1.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Washington hosted the team from London High School.

Washington won the match of former South Central Ohio League teams, 4-1.

Cambry Brown beat Kate Johnson at first singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Jillian Frederick beat Emilie Shepherd at second singles, 6-0, 6-1.

At third singles, Kate Bailey defeated Lilly Gravley, 6-1, 6-1.

London won at first doubles as Cassidy Zink and Shayla Low beat Kendelle Woods and Gretchen Reed, 2-6, 5-7.

At second doubles, Rilee Langley and Sam Dallmayer defeated Adison Daniels and Autumn Mason, 6-2, 6-3.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, Washington hosted Unioto for a non-conference match.

Unioto won, 5-0.

At first singles, Sadie Lamerson beat Cambry Brown, 6-2, 6-2.

At second singles, Margo Lewis defeated Jillian Frederick, 6-3, 6-2.

Mackenzie Welch beat Kate Bailey in the third singles match, 6-3, 6-0.

At first doubles, Tessa Cottrill and Zoë Mash beat Ady Bartruff and Gretchen Reed, 6-2, 6-2.

Rylee Dudzinski and Emma Howard defeated Kendelle Woods and Sam Dallmayer at second doubles, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Washington will host Chillicothe Thursday, Sept. 19.
