KINNIKINNICK — The Miami Trace Panthers and Washington Blue Lions cross country teams competed in the Zane Trace Invitational Saturday, Sept. 7.

There were big schools and much smaller schools with their runners competing against one another.

Miami Trace placed second out of nine teams in the high school girls race with 100 placement points.

Hilliard Darby won with 53 points.

Chillicothe was fourth with 125 points and Hillsboro was fifth with 131 points.

Adena was sixth with 140 points.

In the high school boys race, Westerville South won with 51 placement points.

Chillicothe was second with 53 points, followed by Hillsboro in third with 82 points.

The Washington Blue Lions placed fifth out of 14 teams with 160 points.

Adena was eighth with 245 points; Fairfield was 11th with 275 points and Miami Trace was 12th with 300 points.

In a field of 13 teams, Unioto won the middle school boys meet with 68 placement points.

Fairfield was third with 81 points, Miami Trace was fifth with 113 points, Hillsboro was seventh with 166 points, Greenfield was ninth with 231 points and Washington was 12th with 297 points.

Unioto also won the middle school girls event with 88 points. There were 14 teams with enough runners to post a team score.

Hillsboro was fourth with 117 points, Chillicothe was sixth with 139 points, Miami Trace was ninth with 222 points and Greenfield was 14th with 364 points.

Senior Landen Eyre of Whiteoak won the high school boys race with a time of 16:29.61.

Junior Corbin Winkle of Hillsboro was second in 17:20.64.

Chillicothe junior Jayden Beverly was third with a time of 17:24.99.

Washington junior Avery Wightman was 19th out of 134 runners in a time of 19:23.71.

Miami Trace senior Justin Everhart was the first Panther to finish, placing 61st in 21:30.49.

McClain sophomore Dart Stovall was 57th in 21:17.86.

Sophomore Connor Ayers of Fairfield was the first member of his team to complete the course, placing 48th in 21:06.11.

Adena senior Marcus Jackson was 18th in 19:16.96.

Paint Valley senior Jaxson Immell was 22nd in 19:36.27.

Junior Lydia Price of Marion Harding won the high school girls race with a time of 19:30.75.

Chillicothe freshman Gabby Maranzana was second in 20:28.32.

Adena junior Vanessa Conley was fifth in 22:09.93.

For Miami Trace, freshman Alli Knect was 14th in 23:17.31.

Hillsboro junior Taylor Thoroman was 15th in 23:28.10.

Paint Valley junior Emma Knisley placed 41st in 26:05.34.

Fairfield freshman Iryna Reeves was 68th in 29:28.44.

For McClain, Ashley Mitchell, a senior, placed 83rd in 31:14.68.

Sophomore Addison Weaver placed 97th out of a field of 113 runners in 34:08.32.

Sophie Williams of Zane Trace won the middle school girls race with a time of 13:17.31.

Fairfield’s Daphne Zink placed fourth out of 117 runners in 14:48.56.

Paint Valley’s Kiya Weaver was seventh in 15:04.33.

Miami Trace’s Kamri Reno placed eighth with a time of 15:10.38.

Chillicothe’s Margaret Dailey was 11th in 15:27.06, followed by Hillsboro’s Parker Wilkins in 12th place with a time of 15:28.89.

Alaina Best was the first from Greenfield to finish. She placed 65th in 19:12.72.

Washington’s Brennah Dawes was 102nd in 22:41.65.

Jude Cenci of Unioto won the middle school boys race in 12:24.39.

Ryan Hatert of Miami Trace crossed the finish line with a time of 13:00.64, placing sixth out of 129 runners.

Vincent Ballard of Fairfield was seventh in 13:03.09.

Adena’s Pacey Clever was 12th in 13:10.62.

For Greenfield, Isaac Mincey placed 22nd in 13:52.78.

Mason Rinal of Hillsboro placed 25th in 14:02.51.

Carson Wise paced the Blue Lions with a time of 15:04.34, placing 51st.

Cooper Annon of Paint Valley was 108th in 18:44.66.
