Glow Walk to be held this Saturday

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — The second-annual “Light in the Dark” Glow Walk for suicide prevention awareness will occur this Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at Tony’s Welding & Fabrication Stadium, Miami Trace Local Schools. Registration and sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m., and the walk will begin at 7 p.m. The event is being organized by the Fayette County Suicide Prevention Coalition, “A Community of Hope.”

Pre-registration is free and appreciated (but not required). Register at faycohd.org. There will be several organizations with tables and information about resources for mental health, housing, parenting, and more. The walk is a family-friendly event (no pets).

While the event is free, there will be opportunities to support suicide prevention awareness in the community (cash only). 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline t-shirts will be on sale for $20. Biers Run Mudd has graciously made luminaries which will be sold for $25, with all proceeds benefiting the work of the coalition, such as providing care baskets for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide, the promotion of the 988 crisis lifeline, and training.
