Miami Trace soccer beats Hillsboro, 3-2

HILLSBORO — The Miami Trace High School girls soccer team was looking for a season sweep against Hillsboro in Frontier Athletic Conference play when they visited HHS, located south of the Highland County seat Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Miami Trace got the sweep with a 3-2 victory.

The Panthers defeated Hillsboro 4-2 when the teams played at Miami Trace High School back on Sept. 12.

For the Panthers, Karleigh Cooper scored one goal and assisted on two others.

Marian Mara had two goals and one assist for Miami Trace.

In goal, Ella McCarty had 11 saves.

Miami Trace is now 8-5-1 overall, 3-5-1 in the FAC.

Miami Trace will host Washington Thursday at 5 p.m.

Hillsboro falls to 3-5-1 in the conference, 7-7-1 overall.

In other FAC games Tuesday, Jackson defeated Washington, 7-0 and Chillicothe beat McClain, 7-0.

Chillicothe leads the FAC at 7-0-1. The Cavs are 8-3-2 overall.

Jackson is 5-1-1, 8-2-1 overall; McClain is 4-2-2 in the FAC, 8-2-2 overall and Washington is 0-9 in the FAC, 3-11-1 overall.
