The Cox Paving crew was digging up several inches of roadway and filling in with asphalt along Market Street on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, which will cause the closure of several sections of the street for the next several days.

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Market Street between North North Street and Delaware Street will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for roadwork, according to Aaron Clutter, general manager of Cox Paving Co.

Prior to the total repaving of Market Street, a project that will possibly take until 2026, the project requires some “full depth repair,” according to Clutter. The crew digs several inches down and fills in the roadway with asphalt to prepare it for the full repaving to come.

The street closure should open up Friday afternoon, Clutter said.
