The Miami Trace tennis team recently hosted a pair of Frontier Athletic Conference matches.
On Thursday, Aug. 15, Hillsboro visited Miami Trace High School.
Hillsboro won the match, 5-0.
For Miami Trace, at first singles, Lucia Wilson lost, 0-6, 0-6.
At second singles, Takyia Yahn lost, 0-6, 3-6.
Kielyn Daughtery lost at third singles, 4-6, 3-6.
At first doubles, Lily Waddle and Abbie Steele lost, 3-6, 2-6.
Ava Shull and Lynnie King lost at second doubles, 4-6, 6-0, 9-11.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Miami Trace hosted and defeated Jackson, three courts to two.
At first singles, Lucia Wilson lost to Lauren Carper, 0-6, 0-6.
At second singles, Takyia Yahn lost to Lacey Houser, 3-6, 3-6.
Kielyn Daughtery defeated Kenzie Collins, 6-2, 6-4.
Lily Waddle and Abbie Steele won at first doubles, 6-3, 6-1 over Hannah Fortner and McKenzey Coyan.
At second doubles, Ava Shull and Emma Hagler beat Callie Newkirk and Emma Butts (score not available).
“Good to see a win,” first-year head coach Seth Leach said. “We are still getting better everyday. Our best tennis is still ahead of us.”
Unioto cancelled a match with Miami Trace, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 22, due to illness, according to Leach.
Miami Trace is scheduled to play at Washington High School Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
