LAKELAND, FLA. — Dr. Ed Shoemaker’s re-election to a third four-year term as the Republican party of Florida State Committeeman for Polk County marks a significant milestone in his longstanding commitment to service and community engagement, according to a press release.

A proud native of Fayette County and 1978 graduate of Miami Trace High School, Dr. Shoemaker’s leadership extends beyond his political roles, as he actively champions education and mental health initiatives that align with the mission of Mr. Ed’s Circle of Trust. His involvement on the Republican Party of Florida Executive Board, where he serves as chair of the Congressional District 15 Caucus and Secretary of the Committeeman and Committeewomen Caucus, showcases his dedication to fostering strong relationships and advocating for exceptional care, according to the release.

“By connecting his political contributions to vital community needs, Dr. Shoemaker exemplifies how effective leadership can lead to improved education and mental health support, ultimately benefiting the residents of Polk County and beyond,” the release states.

Shoemaker is the son of the late Layton and Patricia Shoemaker, of Washington Court House; and resides with his wife, Tonya Sharrett-Shoemaker, (formerly of Circleville) in Lakeland, Fla.
