New Jeffersonville housing development in the works

The Sims Construction Company is developing land in Jeffersonville as a housing complex on the north end of the village.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ohio — The Sims Construction Company, of London, Ohio, has broken ground and is developing the land in Jeffersonville to be called Sugar Creek Development, a housing complex on the north end of the village.

The ZZP Group LLC, of London, with Kennison A. Sims as the statutory agent, owns the 179-acre property to be developed for multi-residential use.

Sims Construction was contacted for more information, such as a timetable of the project, but the developer was unavailable for comment.

The plans show street names as follows: Darbyshire Drive, Marshall Street, Montgomery Road, Meeting Street, Halsey Drive, Steuben Drive, Leahy Road, Mountbatten Drive, as main streets. Secondary streets are Arnold Drive, Lafayette Drive, and Knox Street. King Street is one of the access roads off State Route 41 and Yorkshire Drive off High Street will be extended into the new subdivision, with access through to State Route 41, according to the plat. Halsey Drive will be accessed from Colonial Drive off High Street.

According to the building codes for PUD developments, buildings could be single-family homes, town homes, duplexes, and apartments, or a combination thereof.

According to the density requirements in PUD housing, the 179-acre development could be approximately 600, more or less, housing units when completed. With the LGES and Honda electric vehicle battery plant under construction in the area, these housing units will be a much needed growth for the village, according to officials.
