Miami Trace volleyball beats Circleville, Coshocton; falls to Logan in Circleville tournament

CIRCLEVILLE — The Miami Trace High School varsity volleyball team competed in the Circleville Invitational Saturday, Sept. 21.

Miami Trace defeated Circleville in three sets and then dispatched Coshocton in straight sets before sustaining their first loss of the season, in two sets, to Logan.

Miami Trace improves to 14-1 overall.

Logan is now 12-2 on the season.

Circleville is now 10-5 and Coshocton is 11-4.

The Panthers are ranked No. 16 in the state in the Division III coaches poll this week.

Miami Trace beat Circleville, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-22.

The Panthers defeated Coshocton, 25-20, 25-18.

Scores of the sets against Logan were: 13-25, 21-25.

In the tournament for Miami Trace, Addyson Butts had 33 kills, four ace serves and two blocks.

Lauren Guess had 20 kills, four blocks and three ace serves and Allison Carter had nine digs, 19 serve receive.

Miami Trace played at Chillicothe Tuesday, Sept. 24 and will host McClain Thursday starting with the freshman match at 5 p.m.
