The Fayette County Engineer’s Office announced that, in Paint Township, the Danville Road Bridge, over Thompson Creek, is closed between Blue Road and Yatesville-Wissler Road due to a bridge replacement. The bridge is scheduled to reopen by Dec. 1, 2024.

The existing single-span 45-foot bridge was built in 1964 and is being replaced, and will have 20’ concrete approach slabs on each side.

The cost to replace the bridge is $611,627 and is being 50% funded by the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). The engineer’s office depends on OPWC for funding to replace bridges. The program has one year before it comes before Ohio citizens to be voted on for renewal.
