It’s homecoming season for the Blue Lions, and the Washington Court House City School District has numerous events and festivities planned for this joyous occasion.

Homecoming week will begin Monday, Oct. 7 with Spirit Week days at each school building.

Monday is “Minion Monday”. Students and staff are encouraged to grab their overalls, wear some yellow and go bananas.

Tuesday is “Twinning Tuesday”, where students and staff can find a friend and coordinated a creative look.

Wednesday is “White Lies Wednesday”, where students and staff are to wear a shirt with a playful fib that keeps everyone guessing.

Thursday is “Throwback Thursday”, where students and staff will travel back in time and rock a fit from the past.

Finally, Friday is “Festive Friday”, where students and staff will go all out in their blue and white attire.

WCHCS will continue the annual tradition of the homecoming parade on Wednesday, Oct. 9. The parade will leave from the Washington High School parking lot at 6:30 p.m. and travel through the center of town, finishing at Gardner Park.

Once at the stadium, the annual Powder puff football game will take place.

On Friday, Oct. 11, the annual district-wide pep rally will take place at Gardner Park from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Friday evening, Washington will host the Hillsboro Indians for their homecoming football game. Alumni cheerleaders will perform with the Blue Lion cheerleaders, and Blue Lion marching band alumni will perform with the current band members at halftime.

Just prior to kickoff, the 2024 homecoming king and queen will be crowned.

The 2024 homecoming court features freshman attendant Hailey Lemaster, sophomore attendant Ellie Mays, and junior attendant Raven Jackson.

The homecoming king nominees are Jakob Hoosier, Toby Lovett, Casey Hott and Isaac Hood.
