Former Fayette County resident, John W. Leland, has announced the release of his most recent book, “It Happened in Fayette County, Ohio.”

Leland, who is a retired historian, worked for the United States Air Force and now resides in the St. Louis area. He has had numerous articles published in the Record-Herald over the years about local historical people and events. He has spent many hours researching and writing stories about local residents of Fayette County, and has published his work, now available.

The book consists of 198 pages containing 44 stories, including 90 images for anyone interested in local history to enjoy. With the release coming at this time of year, this book will make a great Christmas gift.

The book is available at the Fayette County Historical Society for $15 — a fantastic value for the information Leland has shared.
