WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Red Ribbon Week takes place each year. The mission is to keep kids drug-free.

The Fayette County Commissioners signed a proclamation for Red Ribbon Week at their Monday morning meeting with Shane Anderson, PhD, from Fayette County Community Action.

Red Ribbon Week offers citizens the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.

The commissioners proclaim Oct. 21-25 as RED RIBBON WEEK, and encourage all to participate in prevention education activities, not only during Red Ribbon Week, but also throughout the year, to make a visible statement that the community is strongly committed to a drug-free lifestyle.

Shane Anderson, PhD, and licensed independent chemical dependency counselor with Community Action, said, “I would like to thank the Paint Valley ADAMH board for supporting Red Ribbon Week and the Fayette County Commissioners for this proclamation. Alcohol and drug prevention is working here in Fayette County. Keep up the good work.”
