Board of DD cancels meeting

The Fayette County Board of Developmental Disabilities has cancelled its regular monthly board meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9. The next scheduled meeting is set for Nov. 13.

Yoga on the Patio – Oct. 10

Come join Indigo Roots for some outdoor yoga on the patio at Salty Broads! ** Rain location is inside Indigo Roots. The event will take place at 216 E. Court St. at 7 p.m.

Democrats October meeting – Oct. 10

The Fayette County Democrats will hold their October meeting, Thursday, Oct. 10 starting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at 137 N. Main St. in Washington C.H.

Cooking and Nutrition Classes – Oct. 11

Join the Fayette County Family YMCA for their upcoming Cooking and Nutrition Classes with OSU Fayette Extension. These classes are free and open to the public, so bring your friends and family for some delicious learning. The event will run from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Deer Creek Trail Runs – Greenswell – Oct. 12

Join Deer Creek Trail Runs on Saturday, Oct. 12 for the inaugural Deer Creek Trail Runs. There will be three distances: five mile, nine mile, and 18 mile trail runs. The scenic trail course along the Deer Creek Reservoir features everything for the trail enthusiast – single track trails, rolling course, dry and wet stream bed crossings, and shaded wooded course. The course consists of 98% natural trail and includes some great views of the Deer Creek Reservoir. 2024 marks Greenswell’s 20th year of organizing trail runs and our goal is to continue to build and grow the trail running community in Ohio. The event will run from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Fae(Yette) Festival – Oct. 12

Have a great afternoon doing all things fairy related, from yoga to mushroom painting, it’s a great way to spend the day. The event will take place at 216 E. Court St. from 12-6 p.m.

Top Guns Shooting Competition – Oct. 12

This shooting competition, hosted by A4F Tactical, will begin with a check-in at 7:30 a.m. and the event will end at 3:30 p.m. There will be a variety of shooting competitions to take place. Trophies will be handed out to first, second and third place for each bracket including the pastor shoot. The cost is $39.99 to enter. Pastors and preachers are free to enter the competition and spectators are free. The location is 10886 US Hwy 62 in Mount Sterling.

Art-Ober Fest at Platform Coffee House – Oct. 12

Celebrate Art-Ober Fest at Platform Coffee House. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a lover of local crafts, or just looking for a festive fall day out, there’s something for everyone. The event will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Golf Outing – Oct. 19

Tee time! Support the Fayette County Cancer Support Foundation and put a team together for their first annual Golf Outing. All proceeds from the outing support cancer patients living in Fayette County. Registration is at 8 a.m. and tee time is 9 a.m.

Democrats’ annual fall dinner – Oct. 20

The Fayette County Democrats will host their annual fall dinner on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the American Legion Post 25. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. Guest speakers are Luke Feeney, mayor of Chillicothe, on behalf of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, Adam Miller for US Congress District 15, and Amy Wright for Fayette County Commissioner. Tickets are $30 each. There will also be a silent auction with fantastic items. Veterans Service Commission veteran roundtable discussion – Oct. 21

The Fayette County Veterans Service Commission is holding a Veteran Roundtable discussion on Oct. 21, at 6 p.m at the Pentzer Meeting Room, 107 E. East St., Washington C.H., to talk about connecting with other veteran organizations, understanding what veteran organizations do, exchange ideas on how to best serve veterans and their families, and give veterans an opportunity to ask questions.

Treats & Treasures at the Mall – Oct. 22

Mark your calendars for a spooktacular time at Destination Outlets. Bring your little ghouls and goblins to “Treats and Treasures” where they’ll collect goodies and treasures as they go store-to-store. What to Expect: -Trick-or-Treating throughout the mall -Exciting treasures at every stop -Pumpkin Painting -Balloon artist -Safe and family-friendly fun -Come in costume and snap photos at Destination Outlets. -A Chinese auction you can participate in with a purchase of $25 at any store during Trick or Treat Don’t miss out on this fang-tastic event! The event will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Trick or Treat at Court House Manor – Oct. 23

Join Court House Manor for Trick or Treat! Enjoy chili and buy raffle tickets for great baskets! Then, cross the street to Glenn Avenue and go to the Trunk or Treat at Carriage Court. The event will run from 6-8 p.m.

Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee – Oct. 24

The Blue Lions are putting a fresh new spin on their Halloween celebrations. On Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5:30-7 p.m., the Washington High School cafeteria will be transformed into a festive space for kids to showcase their creative costumes, enjoy sweet treats, and vote on their favorite pumpkin artwork. They need your help to make this event a success. Trunk or Treat – Oct. 29

Trunk or Treat at the Fayette County Family YMCA. The event will run from 6-8 p.m.

WCH Trick or Treat – Oct. 31

Join Washington C.H. for Trick or Treat night from 6-8 p.m.

Beggars Night in Jeffersonville – Oct. 31

Join Jeffersonville for Trick or Treat night from 6-8 p.m.
