Panthers fall to Pioneers, 4-1

The Miami Trace Panthers (7-8-1, 2-6 FAC) hosted Zane Trace (10-5, 3-0 SVC) on Thursday evening in their final regular season boys soccer match of 2024.

The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 17:46 mark of the first quarter after Landon Scored a goal with the assist coming from Ian Rayburn.

At the 15:15 mark, the Panthers were called for a handball just outside of the penalty box, giving the Pioneers a free kick, which they were able to convert to tie the game.

The score remained tied for most of the rest of the firs half, before Zane Trace scored at the 2:20 mark to take a 2-1 lead, which was the score at the half.

Just over a minute into the second half, the Pioneers would strike to extend the lead to 3-1.

The final goal of the evening came at the 18:22 mark, another goal for Zane Trace to make it 4-1 which was the final.

Miami Trace will now turn their attention to their District Tournament game on Tuesday, Oct. 15 where they will host Circleville. Earlier this season, the Panthers and the Tigers played and the Panthers won by a score of 4-1.

The winner of the game on Tuesday will travel to Marietta on Thursday, Oct. 17 for another District Tournament contest.
