AKRON, Ohio — AAF Akron has announced that graphic designer Taylor Smith, of Washington C.H., will be recognized as the Intern of the Year at the organization’s annual meeting on Oct. 17.

Smith is a recent graduate of the University of Akron’s graphic design program and is employed as a graphic designer at Akron-headquartered marketing communications agency, Kleidon & Associates.

Smith grew up in Washington Court House and graduated from Washington High School in 2019. She earned her BFA in graphic design from the University of Akron in May 2024.

Smith was nominated for the award by her employer, where she interned for a year before joining the full-time staff. During her internship, Smith helped the agency win multiple design awards for her work for local and national clients. Her own work as a student also received recognition at local and district levels. Her design work has been used in many social media campaigns, branding projects and website design and layout efforts.

“We are proud of Taylor and are lucky to have her on our team,” said Kurt Kleidon, president of Kleidon & Associates. “Her personality and strong ability to solve a client’s challenge through graphic design continue to impress.”

Smith said that this award was a wonderful surprise. “There are a lot of talented students and interns in the area, and to be chosen as one of the best is an honor.”

In operation since 1975, Kleidon & Associates works with companies locally and worldwide to establish brand recognition, public awareness and sound marketing materials. For more information, visit www.kleidon.com or call 330-666-5984.
