The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at the Flagway (Cruz Thru) on State Route 41 North.
At around 9:28 p.m., a subject wearing all dark clothing, including a Carhartt hooded sweatshirt and a black face covering, entered the business, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash and cigarettes, according to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. From a description given by the clerk, the suspect is believed to be a female.
The clerk was not injured during the incident. The suspect fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes. The person was last seen on foot leaving the front of the store, according to Stanforth.
Officers from the Washington Court House Police Department responded and assisted deputies at the Flagway.
