Blue Lion head coach Louis Reid shared some comments after the tournament.

“Today was a great team effort. This is one of our toughest tournaments on our schedule. Our guys wrestled in many cases above our expectations, but we still see that we have a lot of work to be done. We did have nine place winners.

“Our goal was to place in the top 10 and have five place winners and one champion. We did not reach a goal of having a champion, but Brady Rohrer was our highest finisher by placing third.

“We put three wrestlers in the semifinals, and although we lost all three matches, it took a lot of good wrestling to make it to that point in the tournament. We had three place in the extra bracket. These wrestlers did not get into the main tournament, but still wrestled three to five matches and they all wrestled well.”

He finished, “We will get back to work on Monday. Next Saturday, we will wrestle at the state duels in Carrollton. We are the nine seed and we will wrestle number-eight seed Vincent Warren, with the winner taking on the number one seed, Carrollton.”
